An update

Hi there,

We’re just sending a wee update to let you know what we’ve been doing since our last message!

We had such a warm welcome by Julian and Pat Goodacre at their Peebles House Concertin March where everyone enjoyed lovely hospitality of wine and delicious food (thankfully we were playing first so could relax and enjoy the food and drink before listening to Pete Stewart and his son Leo who provided some very entertaining music and anecdotes. We also received some lovely comments about our music and the compatability of the concertina with the pipes. Thank you for asking us to play Julian – it was a great evening.

We then entered the Skeely Piper class of the Lowland and Border Piper’ Society with 3 new tunes we had learned as the theme this year was music associated with the landscapes of Scotland. We are delighted with the new tunes which we have worked into a new set – The Hills or Lorne, The Bonny Braes of Skelmorly and The Hills of Cromdale. There were some very good performances and although there were joint first places, we were awarded second place!

The LBPS Competition day was very enjoyable and Sally had a full on introduction to the LBPS and all the wonderful characters within!

We are now looking forward to performing at Horncliffe Folk Club on 25th April (please see our gigs page for details and links) after which we are back in the studio with Richard to get a few more songs and tunes recorded. It’s all go…..and we hope to see you soon. We would especially love to see you at our Edinburgh Fringe gigs in August……….tickets are now on sale!
